What's changed

Change log.

A dated record of updates to the preview site — what changed, where to find it, and why. Newest entries appear first.

Each entry covers the full set of changes deployed at one time. The change-log bulletin on the preview site overview highlights the most recent entry; this page carries the full history. Use the links inside each entry to jump straight to the page that changed.

The homepage design notes, folded in — meet Mockup D.

Lindsey's marked-up homepage notes were built onto a fresh mockup — Mockup D — keeping Mock 1, 2, and 3 unchanged as earlier steps in the timeline. The brand logo and official brand green arrive, and several homepage sections are rewritten or combined. Below: what changed.

Brand identity

The Hook & Eye logo and brand green are now on the page.

  • 01

Logo in the nav and footer; circle mark as the browser-tab icon

The text wordmark is replaced by the Hook & Eye badge logo — the green version in the header, the tan version in the footer — and the circle clasp mark is wired in as the favicon.

  • 02

Official brand green #053338 applied across the home page

The accent green is now the brand's official deep green. Contrast was re-checked so headings, links, and buttons stay easily readable (WCAG-AA).

Homepage copy & sections

About, Services, and the team section, rewritten as requested.

  • 03

New About section: "A Studio for Film, Theater, and You"

The About section gets Lindsey's new title and body text — custom costume fabrication, expert alterations, cosplay and special occasions, and vintage / keepsake restoration.

  • 04

Services reframed as "What'll it be?"; equity + team merged into "Meet the team"

The Services heading and Alterations copy are rewritten and the "vocabulary, made plain" link becomes "Huh?". The women-owned / equity statement is shortened and merged with the roster into a single "Meet the team" section (bios & photos still to come).

  • 05

Hero, narration, and pitch cleaned up; footer updated

The hero headline now reads "We build cool shit, professionally" and drops the redundant "For Film, TV & Stage" line; the "Meanwhile, in a small shop…" narration band and the old "Custom costumes. Alterations." pitch band are removed; trailing periods are dropped from section titles; and the footer now reads "Hook & Eye, LLC · Custom Builds, Alterations · Austin, Texas".

The 6/5 review, folded in — meet Mockup C.

Following the 2026-06-05 review meeting, the feedback was built onto a fresh mockup — Mockup C — keeping Mock 1 and Mock 2 unchanged as earlier steps in the timeline. Below: what changed, with links to each affected page.

Services — three clear paths

The services section now routes by what you need.

  • 01

Three doors: Alterations, Custom Work, On-site Services

The Mockup C services section now offers three intent-based paths instead of a single block. Alterations points toward the price list and booking; Custom Work opens the questionnaire; On-site Services opens a brand-new page. Each door routes the visitor straight to the right next step.

  • 02

    New page: On-site Services

A new On-site Services page covers commercials & film, stage & events, and hire-the-studio work — for the jobs where the shop comes to you.

Front page & nav cleanup

A trimmer nav and a less cluttered home page.

  • 03

Catalogue & Glossary moved out of the top nav

The top nav across all of Mockup C is trimmed to Home · About · Services · Portfolio · Process · Questionnaire · Contact. The Catalogue dropdown is gone (its design / photo / font options stay reachable from this preview hub), and the Glossary moves to the footer and the Services / Process links rather than the top bar.

  • 04

Front-page partner badges removed; contact card gains a questionnaire link

The "Permission-Tracked Collaborators" badge wall is off the home page (those credits will live in the portfolio instead). The contact card now offers a "tell us about your project" questionnaire link, with the phone number held until it's confirmed.

Between meetings — what we built.

Between our 2026-05-01 mockup-feedback meeting and the 2026-05-13 follow-up, the preview site received a substantial expansion. Below: what changed, organized by category, with links to each affected page.

Live-site fixes

Three things you noticed at the meeting, fixed.

  • 01

    Glossary color rendering

The Mock 2 glossary page (/GraphicArtMock2/glossary-custom-work) was reading as monochrome despite the paper / jewel-green palette being correctly defined. The cause was sparse at-rest accent-color density — the green appeared only on small h2 emphasis and the "+" expander glyphs. Fix: added a jewel-green left-edge border on each glossary entry's accordion summary plus a kicker tag above each cluster head. The page now reads in color at-rest.

  • 02

Jacket hero photo restored on Mock 2

The Mock 2 home page (/GraphicArtMock2) was showing an SVG illustration of a jacket-with-tiger where Mock 1 had used the actual elvis-jacket photo — the one you approved at the 2026-05-01 meeting. The illustration was a graphic-novel-grammar interpretation that drifted from your approval. Fix: restored the literal Mock 1 pattern with the photo as a CSS background-image. The SVG illustration is preserved in backups for reference.

  • 03

Mock 2 internal nav — Glossary + Questionnaire links across all pages

Before this update, the in-tour Glossary and the Questionnaire were only linked from a few of the 13 Mock 2 sub-tree pages. Added both to the top nav of every page. (Also added a Reference dropdown to all 13 pages — see the next section.)

Questions & To Do — now a dropdown

Four partner-permission letter templates added as sub-items.

The "Questions & To Do" nav-item on the preview site overview has been converted from a single link to a dropdown. Sub-items:

These are the four partner-permission letter templates we discussed for the badge-permission outreach — you can read them as drafts before deciding which to send.

Reference materials — three new pages

Curated content for use during consultations and proposals.

Three new comprehensive reference pages have been added under /reference/, with a "Reference" dropdown nav-item appearing on the preview site overview and on all 13 Mock 2 sub-tree pages:

  • Glossary — comprehensive 110-entry custom-work vocabulary, organised by semantic cluster. A more substantial sibling to the in-tour Mock 2 glossary; appropriate for sharing during consultations or excerpting into proposals.
  • Market Intelligence — multi-metro × segment analysis with per-region market-feature matrices. The substrate for the funnel-strategy decisions in Brief 2.
  • Research-pass Narrative — the per-pass research narrative (Intent / What we found / How applied / How applicable) for the substrate work behind your project.

These materials live in Mock 2 register so they feel like part of the curated content space.

Brief 2 — read-back of the 2026-05-01 meeting

A counterpart to Brief 1, covering what we landed on.

Brief 2 has been added as a counterpart to Brief 1, reading back what we landed on during the 2026-05-01 mockup-feedback meeting. Sections cover:

  • Design-direction marriage (graphic-novel + Simplicity pattern-book + Austin-vintage)
  • The font conversation (humanistic sans-serif body + serif-header contrast)
  • The portfolio strategy (5–7 starter cadence + pattern-book-card layout + art-day cadence)
  • The team page direction (no titles; bios in skills + interests, not resume)
  • Services and process — reshape (process-over-categories framing + AI-anxiety acknowledgment)
  • The funnel strategy (two-tier high-end + alterations; 5-metro geographic targets; cosplay segment)
  • Partner badges & legal (work-staged-at framing + permission-letter approach)
  • What we've built since 05-01 (this expansion)
  • What's still on the list (features for later)
  • What I'd love you to correct

The "03 Brief" nav-item on the preview site overview is now "03 Briefs" with sub-items 03a Brief 1 + 03b Brief 2.

Brief 2 — design-iteration ledger (first instance)

A visible record of how the project has evolved.

Brief 2 contains an in-page "design-iteration ledger" section showing the visible progression from the 2026-04-17 consultation through the 2026-05-13 meeting:

  • 2026-04-17 — initial consultation
  • 2026-04-23 — Brief 1 written + Mock 1 design register
  • 2026-04-24 — Session 01 meeting
  • 2026-04-26 — Mock 1 deploy
  • 2026-05-01 — mockup-feedback meeting
  • 2026-05-08 — Mock 2 build
  • 2026-05-11 — Phase I packet (Glossary + Market Intelligence + Research-pass Narrative) + Brief 2
  • 2026-05-13 — Session 02 meeting

This is a first-instance of a design-iteration-ledger pattern: a single visible record of how the project has evolved across sessions, anchored where you can find it.
